Dear Friends,
I have some exciting news to tell you: we will have a speaker at our next session, and it will be Rabbi JenniferJaech of Temple Israel in Croton. She will talk to us about "What it is like to be a Jew." Her story is especially interesting because she is a convert. When I asked her, she said yes right away. Unfortunately, she can stay for only one hour.
I am delighted that I found just the right person to talk to us -- she is a member of the Reform branch of Judaism. Perhaps we should try to hear from a Conservative and even from an Orthodox Jew to get the whole picture -- in any case, we can add this talk to "What it is like to be a Catholic" and "What it is like to be a Quaker" which we had the pleasure to hear at earlier meetings.
We will meet on Wednesday, November 20th at 7:30 at Symphony Knoll.
Prepare for our December meeting! It will be again at the Black Cow, with refreshments and poetry readings -- all you poets, get ready! Don't be shy. December 18th, at 7pm.
Love,
Cornelia
